DICOPO, MediaLaws and DigiCon research groups are delighted to invite you to a DICOPO Online Roundtable, which will take place online on Tuesday, 19 November, at 5:00 PM CEST.
For this session, the selected topic is AI and Data Regulation: Between Convergence and Novel Challenges.
The adoption of the EU AI Act has prompted novel enforcement challenges.
Among those, the interplay between AI rules and data protection frameworks currently occupies EU businesses, regulators – especially data protection authorities – and researchers in the attempt to make sense of the regulatory puzzle.
Due to the role of data in AI technologies, there is indeed a level of convergence between AI rules and data protection frameworks, particularly the GDPR. Yet the regulatory overlap also raises questions of coherence of the law, practical enforceability of multiple frameworks, and administrative cooperation.
The roundtable ‘AI and data regulation: between convergence and novel challenges’ will explore the interactions between the EU AI Act and EU data protection frameworks with leading legal experts, regulators and academics.
It will bring together diverse perspectives and explore potential solutions, making this a must-attend discussion for anyone involved in AI and data regulation.
