Directive to enhance digital tools in company law

The Council has adopted a new directive to enhance the use of digital tools in company law, so as to improve accessibility, trust, and efficiency. In particular, these aims will be pursued by simplifying administrative processes, foster transparency, and facilitate cross-border business operations. It facilitates the sharing of company information through the Business Registers Interconnection System (BRIS). It also introduces a multilingual Digital EU Power of Attorney and a multilingual EU company certificate. The directive builds on the initiative on digital tools in company law of 2019. It will take effect 20 days after the formal approval and publication in the Official Journal.
