Regulation 2024/1037, which updates the current rules on temporary exceptions for certain providers using technologies to combat online child sexual abuse, has been published in the Official Journal

Regulation (EU) 2024/1307, which amends Regulation (EU) 2021/1232, was officially published. The original regulation established a temporary regime allowing certain providers of interpersonal communications services to use technologies to combat online child sexual abuse until 3 August 2024. The new regulation amends Article 3 regarding the scope of this regime and Article 9 concerning the implementation report by the Commission. Additionally, it introduces Article 9a, which outlines the committee procedure by which the Commission will be assisted in implementing these provisions.
