Aleksandra Kuczerawy

Aleksandra is a senior fellow at the Centre for IT & IP Law (CiTiP) at KU Leuven University, where she leads the Media Law research group. Her research focus is on fundamental rights online with particular attention to freedom of expression, platform regulation, content moderation of illegal and harmful content and AI in the context of new media technologies. She has worked on multiple European projects addressing the regulation of digital technologies in the areas of privacy and data protection, new media regulation, AI, and smart cities. Since 2020, she is a lecturer in media law at KU Leuven postgraduate programme. Aleksandra is an author of the book Intermediary Liability and Freedom of Expression in the EU: from concepts to safeguards
Mikołaj Barczentewicz

Mikołaj is an Associate Professor of Law at the University of Surrey, Research Associate at the University of Oxford, and a Senior Scholar at the International Center for Law & Economics. Mikołaj holds DPhil, MPhil, and MJur degrees from the University of Oxford. He also obtained a Polish law degree from the University of Warsaw. His research spans technology law and policy, financial regulation, constitutional law, and legal theory. Mikołaj combines traditional methods of law and philosophy with computational methods, building on his experience as a professional computer programmer.
Roxana Radu
Research Co-Director – Cyber
Roxana is an Associate Professor of Digital Technologies and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, and Hugh Price Fellow at Jesus College. Her research focuses on the governance of technology and internet-related policymaking. She is the author of the monograph ‘Negotiating Internet Governance’ (Oxford University Press, 2019), inspired by her work with the diplomatic community in Geneva, Switzerland. She often advises governments and international organisations on digital governance issues and currently serves on the Advisory Group of the EU Cybersecurity Agency. Since January 2023, she is the elected Chair of the Global Internet Governance Academic Network (GigaNet).
Catalina Goanta

Catalina is Associate Professor in Private Law and Technology at Utrecht University and Principal Investigator of the ERC Starting Grant HUMANads, focused on understanding the impact of content monetization on social media and on reinterpreting private law fairness in the context of platform governance.
Giulia Gentile
Research Co-Director – AI
Giulia is Lecturer in Law at Essex Law School. Her research focuses on the promotion of human rights in the digital society and EU constitutional law. Giulia joined Essex Law School in 2023, having previously worked at LSE Law School, Maastricht University and King’s College London. She was visiting scholar at the European University Institute, the University Panthéon-Assas and the Max Planck Institute of European Procedural Law. She holds a PhD and an LLM from King’s College London, and her PhD thesis won the 2021 European Public Law Organization PhD Thesis Prize. Giulia has led several EU-funded projects, including on the digitisation of the public services and the interplay between AI and judicial systems. She has co-edited four books and authored more than 30 scientific publications. Her academic work was cited, among others, by the UK Parliament, Advocates General at the CJEU, the European Banking Authority, the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the Slovenian Constitutional Court. Giulia has provided expert evidence to the UK Parliament, the EU Commission, NGOs and other European institutions on issues concerning the protection of fundamental rights and digital regulation. She is a qualified lawyer at the Italian Bar Association and has gained legal practice experience at the chambers of Judge Lucia Serena Rossi at the Court of Justice of the EU and at the M&A Department of Clifford Chance (Milan).
